Cheap Eats 2009

If you’re not looking for a warm, friendly atmosphere, good-sized portions, reasonable prices and awesome hash browns, skip Jam and go pick a fight at a truck stop somewhere. If such things appeal to you and the idea of lemon-ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote ($7.50) fits your definition of genius, then Jam is for you. The Ty’s Big Breakfast ($8.50) can’t be beat for rib-stickiness: a veggie Benedict with a pair of English muffins, veggie sausage, eggs and veggie gravy with those spectacular hash browns, it’s all the food you need for the weekend.
