Smack dab in the middle of Portland's own "indie-rock block" lies the greatest (and tiniest) DIY deli in the city. You'll find art dealers, hipsters, Powell's employees and one hell of an eclectic menu at Half and Half come lunchtime. And it's no wonder-with a chicken-salad sandwich spiked with dried apricots (on rotation, $5.50), the fanciest "Oreo" cookie in the world ($1.50 and worth it), and a damn near perfect latte ($2 for a small one)-the glass, the outlook and the view seem to be always on the full side.
