Drink 2010

Across the street from a gun shop, the Slingshot is a dim hideout for hipsters, rockers and neighbors alike. The kitchen has limited—but good—food; spices and silverware are delivered in cardboard PBR sixers. The bartender says the place got its name because they kill people with slingshots. Several of these weapons are hanging on the wall. I didn't see it myself, but I suspect that when no one is looking the bar breaks out into slingshot wars. Watch out for the $5 minimum when paying with a card because the no-name ATM has a $2.50 service charge. Oh, and don't forget to pet the kitty.
What to drink: Newcastle, Overcast, Hopworks and Ninkasi on tap.
Happy hour: $1 off draft and well beers, $4 food; 3–7 pm Monday-Friday.
Entertainment: Pinball machines, pool, foosball, air hockey.
