Cheap Eats 2009

Syrian-born chef Saied Samaiel's two brightly colored food carts hold down spots at the city's two busiest cart "pods," but easily manage to stand out in the crowd. The menu selection ranges in price from $2 for a small salad to $7 for a full super gyro (which may be the best in Portland). Expect a line at either location, but know it is worth the wait.
BEST BITE: Super gyro.
CHEAPEST BITE: Baklava bites, $1. Small Greek/tabouli salad, $2.
