Cheap Eats 2010

Head to Gresham for the best wood-fired rotisserie chicken around, from family-run El Inka Authentic Peruvian Restaurant. The juicy, sweetly smoky birds ($7.99 for a quarter chicken and sides, $11.99 for a half), spiced with a secret rub and slowly cooked in the dining room's brick oven, are freakishly good. There's no hooch to be had, so it's Inka Kola or Peruvian juices (all $2) for you. Other El Inka standouts include the escabeche (fried seafood in a spicy vinegar sauce with rice, $8.99) and the aji de gallina (shredded chicken in a spiced milk gravy, $7.25).
