April's showers have brought more than flowers—new grazing spots are popping up like dandelions. Sprouting up amid the new North Williams hip parade, new bar Vendetta (4306 N Williams Ave.) will serve weenies, burgers and other comfort food (tamale pie, anyone?) late into the night starting sometime in June. Also, just what Portland needed: Another casual-rapid burrito franchise! Phoenix-based fresh-Mex chain Kokopelli Sonoran Grill promises five Portland franchises, the first of which, according to the chain's website, will touch down this summer in Beaverton's Cornell Center. Olé. >> Not content with dominating the real-world cute-sandwich circuit, downtown cafe Half & Half just launched its own blog on UrbanHonking (www.urbanhonking.com/halfandhalf), which owner Robin Rosenberg writes "will attempt to create a true Half & Half 'experience' in cyberspace." What the hell does that mean? "It's gonna have [food] updates," Rosenberg told WW. "But also the goings on and the daily adventures of Half & Half." >> Voodoo Doughnut, Portland's late night sugar-crack HQ, reports that it's celebrating its third birthday Friday-Saturday, May 26-27, with a doughnut-naming contest and performances by the, ahem, "one and only Elvis." Psst: They're also open 22 hours a day now (the only time they close up shop is 11 am-1 pm Monday-Friday, 4-6 am every Saturday and all Sunday).
