There will be a meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church on Southeast Belmont and 55th Street to discuss the future of Mt. Tabor Park. The general public is invited to learn about the city's plans to sell a portion of the park to a private owner. Currently, a memorandum of understanding has been signed by the Portland Parks Bureau to sell 8.5 acres the park, but organizers hope the meeting will encourage awareness and activism by those who are interested in the future of the park, and potentially prevent the sale.
