Willamette Geek: Free iPhone App of the Week: iHours

iHours by informatica@sapienza. Cost: Free

How many times have you rolled up to a store, shopping list in hand, only to find you're increasingly unreliable memory has failed yet again when there's a big, smoking "Closed" sign draped on the door?

iHours seeks to make sure such trauma is a thing of the past by letting you group your oft-visited locales in a list of "Activities." I like it because rather than throwing you a bunch of numbers for your overburdened brain to parse, iHours just tells you if the activity is available or not. Below is an example using some Asian groceries. Based on the day and time, iHours at a glance tells me if the shops in question are available or not.

Setting up is all done manually and is fairly straightforward. Just add a locale, and put in its hours of operation.
