Alela Diane and Laura Gibson Hit the UK Big Time

Picture 1Whoa dudes, this is pretty cool. Both Alela Diane and Laura Gibson—two of our favorite local chanteuses—are making some series waves across the pond. Diane just recorded a set on the BBC's Later with Jools Holland, and the beautiful take of "Lady Divine" is streaming there right now. Unfortunately, the clip isn't embeddable at the moment. Maybe the British don't do that. Or maybe they are just jealous of Diane's new haircut, which makes her even cuter—if that's possible—than before.

Diane's been joined by Gibson for her latest round of oversees touring, as her gorgeous full-length Beast of Seasons just saw an official EU release. She stopped by Radio 6 for an interview with Marc Riley. Hush records has the link, and says that Gibson chats about life in Coquille, performing at a prison, and touring Japan with sound architect Ethan Rose. Just hearing Gibson speak puts me in a better mood.
