One question we asked in our
endorsement interview of
Oregon's gubernatorial candidates
this week
was whether it's finally time for a change given that the Democrats have held the governor's job for the past 24 years—and Oregon is, by many measures, worse off now compared to other states than it was 24 years ago.
Democratic candidate
John Kitzhaber, who served two terms as governor from 1995 to 2003, responded to that question in the Oct. 5 interview by attacking Republican opponent
Chris Dudley. Then the two speak to the question of their campaign contributions and what it says about them as candidates.

We'll be running other bits of the video from our interview this week. Come back tomorrow to see Dudley's answer to what we consider one of the key questions facing his rookie political campaign. And a reminder that all our endorsements in the Nov. 2 election will be available (as will the videos of all our interviews) on Oct. 13.
