Alela Diane Heads for the Country, Home

alela crowd 2'Tis true. The lovely, crushingly talented forest folkstress Alela Diane is moving away from our fair city and heading home to Nevada City, California. 'Tis sad, but Diane assures us she'll be around town plenty. "I'll still pass through for shows often and my label [Holocene Music] is here too." She explained the reasons in an email a couple of days ago:

I've gained a travelling companion: my boyfriend, Tom, is going to go touring with me and playing bass.

We'll be on the road about half the time, so when we are not out in the world--in cities--we want to be in the country, around our best friends and family. The river in Nevada City awaits and we've been missing our roots.

Portland has been such a lovely home, and will never be a stranger. It is just a good bye for now, a very very friendly one.

She plays June 27 at Holocene with Nevada City's Grass Roots Record Company Family.
