Plans for Talkdemonic Fall Tour Dropped

TalkdemonicYesterday Local Cut reported that Talkdemonic's Lisa Molinaro will be joining the Decemberists on the fall tour in support of that band's major label debut The Crane Wife. At the time, the status of a Talkdemonic fall tour, which would have been a second outing in support of the duo's tremendously beautiful sophomore album, Beat Romantic, was up in the air. Of course, with Molinaro and her viola on the road with Colin Meloy and Co., there was little question that plans would at least be altered. But LC just learned from Talkdemonic drummer Kevin O'Connor that there will not be a tour this fall, which is really too bad for the rest of the nation. There is also no plan for any Portland appearances by Talkdemonic before the Decemberists kick off their tour Oct. 17 at the Crystal Ballroom, which is really too bad for us.

So, those who caught Talkdemonic's MusicfestNW set last Thursday at Doug Fir (and I've been told by numerous folks that it was one of, if not the, best performance the duo has ever given) are lucky. LC will be talking to O'Connor about the future of Talkdemonic later this week, so stay tuned.
