Word on the Street

Retail Therapist has it on good authority that Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics—the Canada-based, super good-smelling natural soap company—is vacating its current, zig zag-shaped space at 803 NW 23rd Ave. and is moving across the street to more feng shui-friendly digs at 708 NW 23rd Ave. They expect to take over the new location—next door to Rich's Cigar Store—within the next few weeks. The new store will be comparable to the old one in square footage, but with a much more open design. Which begs the question: what's moving into their soon-to-be former location? According to RT's sources, the building owners would like to combine the Lush space with what's left of the former Music Millennium space—parts of which have been subsumed by neighboring stores Souchi and Three Monkeys—and the space recently vacated by Lena Medoyeff, and rent it to an as-yet-to-be-determined single tenant. Lush, 803 NW 23rd, (503) 228-5874, Rich's Cigar Store, 820 SW Alder St.; 706 NW 23rd Ave.; and 922 NW Flanders St., Music Millennium, 3158 E Burnside St., (503) 231-8926.
