Okay, this has gone far enough: In the last six weeks, I've received press releases from three different operators of beer-themed bike-buses, each claiming to be Portland's first, each with a cheesy portmanteau: Pedalounge, CycleSaloon and, today, Brewcycle. All are inspired by the Dutch "bierfiets," which have previously been copied in Minneapolis and Houston. Barring a major change in Oregon liquor law (which CycleSaloon seems to be after), none of these bikes are allowed to actually serve beer, so they're all essentially human-powered party buses.
