Firefighters Make Statement in Fritz-Nolan Race

Rep. Mary Nolan

The Portland Metro Firefighters Political Action Committee made a major investment today in the city council race between incumbent Amanda Fritz and and her challenger, State Rep. Mary Nolan (D-Portland).

The fire union today gave Nolan $20,000, in a rebuke to Fritz, whom some union members see as insufficiently supportive. The contribution is by far the largest check the group has written to any candidate since at least 2006, when the current campaign finance reporting system went into effect.
