Video: Red Fang, "Hank is Dead"

still from "hank is dead" video

Red Fang is making the best music videos in Portland. On this, their third vid in an epic trilogy for Relapse Records, the band shows off a few familiar themes—beer, driving around, watches drawn in sharpie—but also gives a lot of love to its hometown and the legions of air guitarists that live here.

This new video is a bit lower-key than the band's first epic two, which found them murdered by LARPers and driving through a wall of milk, but it's a charmer that bears repeated views (especially if you miss the Ian Karmel belly cameo the first time through). I am reminded here of an ancient quotation that always centers me spiritually and emotionally:

It seems like Red Fang is enjoying its time atop the Portland rock and roll heap about as much as any band could. I mean, sheesh, they even shower together!
