Ken Jennings
Jeopardy! genius Ken Jennings has written a book—who knows why, because the guy is mega rich from winning game shows, but probably his brain would explode if he didn't put it to use. The book is about "geogeeks"—so, map nerds—and why maps are awesome. Even if you don't agree, this reading will almost certainly be great, because it's Ken freaking Jennings. Powell's Books at Cedar Hills Crossing, 3415 SW Cedar Hills Blvd. 7 pm. Free.

Game of Portlandia
Trackers PDX—an organization dedicated to teaching Portlanders the vital skills they will need when doomsday comes—throws a potluck and skill-share on the final Friday of every month. This month's theme is apparently inspired by Game of Thrones. So you'll be slaughtering babies and having lots of sex. I kid, I kid. More like foam sword fighting and archery. Trackers Earth Portland, 5040 SE Milwaukie Ave. 6:30 pm. Free.

Drink and Draw with Peter Bagge
Kick off Stumptown Comics Fest by drinking and drawing with cartoonist Peter Bagge (Hate, Neat Stuff, Apocalypse Nerd). He'll be signing copies of his new series, Reset, and art supplies, food and booze will be supplied. Bridge City Comics, 3725 N. Mississippi Ave. 7 pm.

The Doubleclicks CD Release Party
Geek folk duo the Doubleclicks releases its new album—named after a write-up in Willamette Week! "Chainmail and Cello" was a tag I used on a listing in our music section. Now it's the album title. This is awesome. Backspace, 115 NW 5th Ave. 8 pm. $5.

USS Improvise: The Next Generation
Star Trek improv? But of course. Funhouse Lounge, 2432 SE 11th Ave. $10 suggested donation.

The listing here are written by WW, but we crib events shamelessly from the Geek Portland calendar. Go there for more events and information.
