U of O Presidential Finalist Named

Since the stormy departure of former University of Oregon President Richard Lariviere last November, the Ducks have been looking for a new president.

It looks as if they have found him.

This week, Michael R. Gottfredson, provost at the University of California, Irvine will be on campus meeting with various interested parties. Here's a brief bio the Oregon University System released this morning, in a statement identifying Gottfredson as "the finalist" for the position.

The OUS board will vote on whether to hire Gottfredson this Friday at a 9:00 am meeting.
