Update 5:35 p.m.: Wingard emailed WW a statement which reads, in part:
“Earlier today I have formally submitted my resignation as Deputy Leader of the Oregon House Republicans.  My resignation was graciously accepted by both Co-Speaker Bruce Hanna and Republican leader Kevin Cameron.  In hindsight, I should not have entered into the relationship and for that, I offer my most sincere apology.”

“I am also deeply sorry for the harm this has caused my family, friends and supporters."
