Future Drinking: Sizzle Pie Buys Plan B

And more new places to eat and drink in Portland

Bar and restaurant gossip, courtesy of this week's OLCC liquor license applications:

Matthew Jacobson and Michael McKennedy, the owners of Sizzle Pie, have bought inner southeast punk/metal bar Plan B. The paperwork reveals that the previous owner was the awesomely titled Class War Begins at Home LLC.  

The cursed location of 1101 E Burnside has a brave new tenant: Bar Alla Bomba, owned by Christopher Ashley, who kind of looks like Harold Zidler from Moulin Rouge. According to the bar's Facebook page, it will be a "bacaro (a Venetian style bar) with ciccheti (Venetian bar snacks), wines by the glass, local beer, and cocktails (both classics and traditional Italian drinks)." In the past five years, the space has been home to two iterations of the Guild Public House, Report Lounge and Chesterfield.

Dustin Berkholtz has purchased Shimmers at 8000 SE Foster Rd. Berkholtz is also the owner of Duketts Public House and states on his application: "I intend to clean this bar up I have 2 other bars & I run a tight ship and commit myself to my businesses 110%." The bar will still have strippers. 

Looks like muffaletta hotdogs weren't quite the draw one might have expected: Kimberly and Stanley Pratnicki have applied to open Bar Dobre in the space that currently houses Bird Dog at 3962A SE Hawthorne Blvd.

Speaking of hot dogs, the owners of Nick's Famous Coney Island on Southeast Hawthorne have purchased the 72nd Ave. Pub at 7610 SE 72nd Ave. 

Jason Justman was applied for a license for Hollywood's Hot Rod Bar & Grill in the former space of Winners Motor Sports Bar at 10810 NE Sandy Blvd. 

Team Freeze Industries, registered to one Michael Foster, is opening Viewpoint at 8102 NE Killingsworth St.
