Nena Cook Antes Up In Supreme Court Race

Nena Cook, who is competing with Multnomah County Court Judge Richard Baldwin for a vacancy on the Oregon Supreme Court, reported loaning her campaign $80,000 yesterday. That loan comes on top of an earlier $10,000 Cook, a business and employment lawyer at the Sussman Shank firm in Portland, gave herself. She has also received $40,000 of the $232,000 she's raised this year from her mother and step-father.

Baldwin has raised just slightly more in the race, $255,000, including $57,500 from public employee unions.

With ballots going in the mail tomorrow, both candidates in a race that is unusually contentious for a judicial contest have about the same amount of cash on hand—$124,000 for Baldwin and $104,000 for Cook.

WW has endorsed Baldwin in the race.
