In City Council Race, Fritz Has an Edge Over Nolan, With Many Still Undecided

City Commissioner Amanda Fritz is a slight favorite to be re-elected Nov. 6 over her challenger, Rep. Mary Nolan (D-Portland), according to new polls.

A poll released Tuesday by Fox 12 and Oregon Public Broadcasting shows respondents favored Fritz over Nolan by 37 percent to 29 percent, with 34 percent undecided.

And a survey released Monday night by The Oregonian shows similar results: 38 percent of respondents said they would vote for Fritz and 30 percent for Nolan. Another 32 percent say they still haven't made up their minds.

The polls indicate the race is still too close to show a clear leader. The Fox 12-OPB poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent; The Oregonian's, plus or minus 5 percent.
