The Seattle Police's Guide to Getting High

music.top5.potguy_3724

Now that recreational pot is legal in the state of Washington, the Seattle Police Department has put out an FAQ on smoking and possessing dope in the Emerald City, and it's full of, ahem, high humor.

Titled "Marijwhatnow?" the frequently asked questions answers questions such as "Can I smoke pot outside my home? Like at a park, magic show, or the Bite of Seattle?" and "What happens if I get pulled over and I’m sober, but an officer or his K9 buddy smells the ounce of Super Skunk I’ve got in my trunk?"

The post also links to a YouTube video of Gandalf and a hobbit friend enjoying "the finest weed."

What's with the sudden impulse to give people the giggles? Turns out a former alt-weekly writer now employed by the SPD wrote it. Jonah Spangenthal-Lee wrote for Seattle's The Stranger, and tells media gadfly Jim Romenesko he figured he'd inject a little fun into the FAQ.

The post has gone viral on Twitter and other social media, Romenesko reports.

And, for local smokers looking to get high in a low-risk environment, the Clark County District Attorney's office announced yesterday that it's dropping all misdemeanor marijuana cases, according to The Columbian.
