Oh Hey, It's the 2013 Sasquatch Lineup

Mumford & Sons, Postal Service, Macklemore, someone with the last name Knowles and more scheduled to appear.

Well, there's no Phoenix or reunited Britpop legends, but at least there's no Red Hot Chili Peppers, either.

The 2013 Sasquatch lineup is out and it's, well, a music festival circa 2013. Headliners include the reunited Postal Service; Seattle-bred indie-rap uber-success story Macklemore and Ryan Lewis; "retarded Irish folk singers" (not my words!) Mumford and Sons; the apparently still popular Vampire Weekend; the apparently still existent Bloc Party; the xx and Sigur Ros, who must be playing the new Sleepytime Night-Night Stage, sponsored by Nyquil; and, occupying the obligatory "Hey, Remember the '90s?" slots, Built to Spill, Cake and Primus…in 3D!

As usual with most festivals, though, the best stuff is in the lower half of the bill, including a fairly stellar hip-hop lineup (Killer Mike, Earl Sweatshirt, El-P, Danny Brown, Death Grips, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul, P.O.S., Seattle's Kingdom Crumbs); chillwave survivor Toro y Moi; indie supergroup Divine Fits; candy-coated stoner-metallurgists Torche; psychedelic mind-fuckers Tame Impala; anthemic power-duo Japandroids; and Solange "Not Beyonce" Knowles, who did not perform at the Super Bowl but did drop one of the best singles of 2012. There's also the superfluous comedy tent—featuring Nick "Ron Swanson" Offerman, Brett Gelman, James Adomian, Mike Birbiglia, Jenny Slate, etc.—there to provide soothing background noise for folks trying to escape the summer heat and/or fight their way out of a K-hole.

What there's not a lot of is Portland acts, which at this point is only Menomena and Red Fang. But did I mention Primus? 'Cause Primus is gonna be there…in 3D!

Sasquatch happens at the Gorge Amphitheater in middle-of-nowhere Washington, May 24-27. For the full lineup, go to the official Sasquatch site, or try to read the pretty cool poster below.
