Man Says He Missed Father-Daughter Dance After Beating at Devil's Point Strip Club

A Snoqualmie, Wash., man says a beating he took at the hands of Devils Point strip club bouncers made him miss a father-daughter dance.

Scott Garcia filed a lawsuit April 18 in Multnomah County Circuit Court, claiming battery and seeking $22,924 for a broken rib, missed work and emotional distress.

The suit says Garcia had left Devils Point, at 5305 SE Foster Rd., when he realized he left behind his North Face jacket. He knocked on the club's locked door, and was told to go away and come back the next day. But Garcia couldn't come back in the morning, the suit says.

"Scott, a father of two daughters, had to leave for Seattle early the next day to prepare them for an annual father/daughter dance, which meant he had to take them shopping for dresses and get their hair done," says the suit, filed by Milwaukie lawyer Donel Courtney.

As Garcia continued to try and get in, the lawsuit says two bouncers opened the door suddenly and slammed it into him and then tackled him, breaking a rib.
