Video: "Condition," Daniel Rafn

If there’s any place in Oregon weirder than Salem, it’s Keizer. The suburb has spawned a number of nerd-identified rock bands over the years, the majority of which contain a Rafn brother. Kevin Rafn has been working with a little band called Wampire of late. And eldest brother David Rafn was a founding member of seminal Portland post-rock band the Kremlin Bronx. In the middle is Daniel Rafn, whose latest video, “Condition,” debuts here. It’s another strange foray into low budget CGI produced by weirdo video collective Chop Motion Films. You may recall their work on Massive Moth’s “Patrons of Wanderers” video.

Witness the strangeness as the middle Rafn brother plays the victim card from the trunk of a car, from inside his own throat, and, well, just hit play. And try not to watch it on a full stomach.

SEE IT: Daniel Rafn plays Holocene, 1001 SE Morrison St., with Kate Boy and the Tempers, on Wednesday, Sept. 18. 8:30 pm. $12. 21+.
