Kitzhaber Picks Up Checks from Nike, Others

Gov. John Kitzhaber—who still has not announced whether he will run for a fourth term next year—disclosed a new round of fundraising today.

Kitzhaber got $10,000 from Nike, the beneficiary of a 2012 special session that guaranteed state's current method of taxing the sportswear giant would remain unchanged. He also got $7,500 from Brett Wilcox, a close associate who made a fortune in the aluminum business; $5,000 from prominent Portland litigator Steve English and $5,000 from Hollywood writer and director Dean Devlin. Devlin directed many of the episodes of the television series Leverage, which shot in Portland.
