Lines for Life Hires Dwight Holton as Executive Director

Lines for Life, a Portland non-profit that works on suicide and substance abuse prevention, has hired Dwight Holton to be its new executive director.

Formerly known as the Oregon Partnership, Lines for Life operates crisis telephone lines that served 35,000 people last year.

Holton, 48, was a federal prosecutor for 14 years, serving as the acting U.S. Attorney for Oregon in 2011-12. He ran unsuccessfully in the Democratic primary for attorney general in 2012, losing to now-AG Ellen Rosenblum. Holton joined the Portland law firm Lane Powell that same year but says he's ready for a change.

"I'm really excited to be returning to a leadership position in public service," Holton says.
