WW contributing writer Mitch Lillie helps the discerning club-goer put together their weekly calendar by compiling Portland's best dance-music options for the next seven days. Turn up, tune in, drop the bass.

— You knew it was gonna happen soon. There’d be just as many conflicts as there were on New Year’s Eve but you’d be left without the deep pockets to visit all of them. But damn, so soon as Friday? The Blue Monk is hosting Marcellus Pittman, who gets about as deep and soulful as disco house can get—think Mariana Trench and Aretha Franklin, respectively. Pittman is a member of the 3 Chairs crew, who were at the center of Detroit’s second wave of house and techno in the mid-'90s. (9 pm, $5, 21+)

— On the same night, Oliver $, whose breakout 2011 hit sampled fellow 3 Chairs member Moodymann, plays the Analog“Doin’ Ya Thang” is Oliver $’s most soulful cut, mostly thanks to that sample, and he’s since moved to more standard fare for Play It Cool, a funk-focused imprint of Made To Play. More than that, Oliver $ generated a lot of buzz for Sample Pleasures Vinyl 1 & 2, a 2012 collaboration with Made To Play founder Jesse Rose. (9 pm, $10 before 12 am, $15 after, 21+)

— Finally on Friday, the Club Chemtrail boys explore less conspiratorial territory with Deep Burn at Valentine’s. Expect it to get nice and vibe-y as they spin more familiar styles and jams. (10 pm, free, 21+)

— At least we can all agree that on Wednesday, no matter what your bias, Oneohtrix Point Never will be the hot shit not to miss. (Doug Fir, 9 pm, $16-18, 21+)
