Led by the mesmerizing drums of Ben Stoller and Caitlin Love, the atmosphere on âLabyrinthosââa new track off sample-heavy synth-percussionists Hot Victory's upcoming self-titled second albumâis simultaneously calm and chaotic. Synthesizers thrum and smolder, occasionally piercing the cosmic darkness like lasers. Distorted vocal samples crawl out of the murky background, lending a paranoid claustrophobia to an otherwise spacious track. Itâs the type of song thatâs ideally paired with some medical grade marijuana and the iTunes visualizer.
Hot Victory is being issued by blackened distortion factory Eolian Empire on April 22. You can catch Hot Victory April 24 at Mississippi Studios as part of the annual Stumpfest, and May 16 at Branx with Florida noise-rock overlords Floor.
