Portland's Best Dance Music Options, 5/29-6/4

Main Squeeze debuts Saturday at Holocene.
In this column,
music calendar editor and contributing writer Mitch Lillie helps the discerning club-goer put together their weekly calendar by compiling Portland's best dance-music options for the next seven days. Turn up, tune in, drop the bass.

On Friday at Tonic Lounge, Club Tropicana gently reminds us that summer is beginning. The sun-drenched disco-fied house producer Suzanne Kraft visits from L.A. with local support from Natural Magic, Acid Farm, Daniela Karina, Break Mode and Kitchen DJ. Raise a glass of Peach Orchard Punch on the rooftops of your imagination. (Around 9 pm, $5, 21+)
You bobbed your head to the intoxicating soundtrack of Pokemon (or Mortal Kombat, or Zelda or whatever), now see what happens when Portland chiptune producers write the soundtracks to the video games of our collective subconscious. Dataport is Friday at the Alhambra. (9 pm, $5, 21+)

On Friday at the Spare Room, kickass DJ trio Strange Babes will spin whatever gets feet moving, from garage and no-wave to electro pop. (9 pm, free, 21+)

Jason Derulo’s culturally insensitive but ultimately radio audience-pleasing “Talk Dirty To Me” is begging for a good remix. Smookie Illson’s trap cut is not it, but the trio has a few cuts that bang. See them on Friday at the Whiskey Bar. (10 pm, $10, 21+)
Few Portland artists ever make it on to Beatport’s lists, but electro house producer Deformaty has. Catch him at Triforce at the Pub at the End of the Universe on Saturday. (7 pm, free, 21+)
The ontological issues that arise when equating orange juice with slang for a significant other notwithstanding, Main Squeeze, featuring an array of local DJs, makes its sunny debut Saturday at Holocene. (9 pm, $3, 21+)

Local purveyor of moombahton and twerk Lil Clark helps ring in S.Y.N.T.’s fifth anniversary on Tuesday at the Analog. (9 pm, free, 21+)
