Meet the 9 Oregonians Running for President of the United States

Your 2016 presidential choices aren't be limited to Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and whomever the Republicans can find to upend Donald Trump. Nine Oregonians have also filed papers with the Federal Elections Commission to run for president.

This week, WW spoke with two Portland-area candidates, Martin Hahn III and Renee Stephens, about their campaigns. Here's the scoop on the other seven Oregonians running for the nation's highest elected office.

Daniel Robert Owens (D-Ashland)

Owens runs a small production company called Forget Me Not Productions, which he founded with help from Goodwill Industries' Dream Savers program. Although he has not formally withdrawn his candidacy, he says his application "was a mistake."

Rick Isaak (Independent-Toledo)

Isaak is a food service worker and ordained minister of Universal Life Church, an online church.

Sherbrony Sherby Doyle (Independent-Gaston)

This candidate appears to be registered under a fake name. No one with this name can be found via background checks.

Edward Lane Baker (No party affiliation-Portland)

Baker's views blur across party lines. He told Salem News he is passionate about issues such as deporting all illegal immigrants, defending gun ownership, investigating 9/11 and legalizing marijuana.

Billy Tom Moore (Independent-Christmas Valley)

Moore submitted his presidential candidate application from Deer Ridge Correctional Institution, where he was incarcerated for charges of rape in the first degree, sodomy in the first degree and sex abuse 2. His sentence has since ended.

Jack Sparrow (Independent-Lincoln City)

Sparrow has done most of his campaigning in character as Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp's character from Pirates of the Caribbean, someone whom he frequently impersonates. (Jack Sparrow is his legal name.) He told KATU-TV he would wear a suit when appropriate, but sees no reason the president couldn't be dressed as a pirate.

Howie Rubin (No party affiliation-Portland)

Rubin is an insurance agent with a master's degree in psychology, active in the St. Johns neighborhood watch. Rubin ran for mayor of Portland in 2012. He received 178 votes—that's 0.13 percent.
