Yes, we now live in a world where hip music venues host bumpin' birthday parties for the president of these states united. The Democratic Party of Oregon hosts OBAMA'S BIRTHDAY BASH! at Backspace tonight. "Come celebrate our 44th President on his 48th birthday," all for the uncharacteristically uncapitalistic price tag of Free! DJs Mikah and Micah will be spinning between 5:30 and 7:30 pm; ShanRock's Triviology ($5 donation to DPO to play), with a decidedly executive twist, from 7:30-9 pm; after that, live hip hop/reggae from Shamir; and more raffles and refreshments than you can throw a Portugese Water Dog at. The icing on the birthday cake? That's free too.
Obama's Birthday Bash unfolds tonight at Backspace from 5:30-11 pm. Free.
