New Group Forms to Oppose Lents Baseball Deal

Lents Park

A new group has formed to voice opposition to Portland's proposed public-private venture with Merritt Paulson to bring minor-league baseball to Lents. That proposal, of course, calls for building a new stadium in the 38-acre Lents Park (pictured above.)

Appropriately, the group calls itself Friends of Lents Park. Members may not buy ink by the barrel like The Oregonian, but they are getting organized with a website. First meeting is this Wednesday, June 3, at 6 pm at the park's gazebo.
