Just in time for Halloween,
former Democratic Party foil Ralph Nader has popped out for another ghoulish surprise: he's
suing the Party! And part of his evidence deals with what he says happened in Oregon.
In a
lawsuit filed Tuesday in D.C. Superior Court, Nader alleges the Democrats, along with several other organizations like the
now-disbanded America Coming Together,
sued to keep the former Green Party candidate off the ballot in 18 states to stop him from siphoning votes from Dem. candidate John Kerry.
The lawsuit is seeking "compensatory damages, punitive damages and injunctive relief to enjoin the defendants from ongoing and future violations of the law."
And guess what? Oregon activists are singled out in the lawsuit as being
especially freaky! The lawsuit accuses the Democratic National Party of
sending Kerry supporters to a Nader event at Benson High School, which kept Nader from raising enough signatures to get on the ballot.

It was widely reported that
Republicans also sent Bush supporters to this rally and other Nader events in order to boost the numbers there and
help Nader get on the ballot.
