Oregon Still Has One Team Left in March Madness

The OSU women's team is playing in the Elite Eight today but you probably didn't know because, well, it's women's basketball.

Did you know that much like voting, flying airplanes and running for president, women are now allowed to play basketball? Crazy, right? What about their periods?!

Anyway, regardless of hormone levels, it's true, ladies are legally allowed to play basketball. And, you'll never believe this one, Oregon State University, right here in the state of Oregon, a mere hour and a half drive down the Valley from Portland, has a really good women's basketball team that, unlike every other Oregon basketball team that made it to what they call The Big Dance, aka March Madness, hasn't lost yet.

How much do you love Oregon and basketball? Is it enough to get over the idea of people with ovaries making jump shots?

If you want to get on this bandwagon—and let's be honest, it's barely a bandwagon because this is actually your team—then you're going to have to navigate some obstacles. For one, even though the official NCAA website has a "bracket" tab for the women, there doesn't actually appear to be a real bracket.

Also, the Beavers, unlike many other women's teams, don't preface their name with "Lady." So instead of being the Lady Beavers they are just the Beavers. You might find this confusing, since "Lady" should technically always proceed the women's version of something that men have set the standard on, so basically everything.

One positive: Their next game will be on TV. You can tune in tonight to ESPN at 6 pm to watch the Beavs play the Baylor Lady Bears.
