Since its opening in 1960, Lloyd Center's little patch of ice has become the site of Tonya Harding's first twirl and Bobby Kennedy's last, the filming location of the Shins' "Kissing the Lipless" music video and where Jim "Thurston Howell III" Backus danced with a bear. Recent renovations reduced the rink's size, but faithful fans of weekend Rock 'n' Skate nights seem perfectly content to have traded a bit of space for fresh lockers and faux snow flurries.
