On a Friday evening, the sound of huehuetl drums, ayoyotes (rattling ankle bands with rows of wooden shells), and ayacachtli (a handheld rattle made from gourds) beat steadily in Alberta Park. Dancers for Mitotiliztli Tezkatlipoka, a Danza Azteca group, moved through their steps, spinning and stomping on the basketball court. (Sean Bascom)
