Cheap Eats 2009

The tortillas are made in-house at this Mexi market/taqueria, so tacos ($2) come highly recommended with the usual topping options or cabeza (head) and lengua (tongue). If you want a heal-all-wounds savory soup ($8) order the menudo, birria, caldo de res or pollo. They don't serve beer or wine here but there is of course Jarritos ($1). And, just so you know, the small dining room is freezing in the winter and hot in the summer, and the decor is fake flowers lit by fluorescents. The food floats it all. (LC)
