The Oregonian has given State Treasurer Ted Wheeler a pretty good shellacking in its ongoing coverage of how Wheeler's investment managers travel expenses are paid for. In a nutshell, the daily does not think the Treausury—which oversees $74 billion, mostly in public pension funds—is sufficiently transparent. Wheeler disagrees and has laid out his response.
