Oregon Online: State Agency Maps Broadband Coverage

The State of Oregon has created an ugly but functional interactive map of broadband services across the state.

Thanks to the Oregon Public Utility Commission, you can now see how much of the state still has no broadband access and write angry letters about that, or, more usefully, enter your address and find all the providers available to you, and run speed tests on your connection.

It's still a bit buggy, but the public project has federal stimulus funding through 2014, so it should improve some.

"To get the most from the site I encourage people to read the tutorials and then jump in [and] find out what the website has to offer," Bryan Conway, an OPUC telecommunications administrator, is quoted as saying in a press release.
