Donald J. Trump Is Planning His Portland Rally for Aug. 31

A source close to the campaign says they're looking for a venue.

Mark your calendars, Portland.

Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump will visit Portland on Wednesday, Aug. 31, a source close to the campaign tells WW.

WW reported Thursday that Trump is likely to hold a public rally and a pay-per-plate dinner in Portland during his late-August fundraising swing along the West Coast.

The date is now set. The location of the rally? That's not as clear.

The campaign is still hunting for a venue and figuring out what fundraising events it will hold, a source tells WW.

Finding a Portland-area venue has been a problem for Trump's team in the past. In May, he pledged to visit Vancouver, Wash., but couldn't find an available hall or stadium. He eventually cancelled the appearance.
