FashioNXT Dairy: Day 2

Cute Kids and health goth dominated the second night at "Portland Fashion Week," and Charlie Hales ran away from his front row seat.

Sideline your waterproof pants and utility kilts, Portland—it's Fashion Week.

For once, the two massive white tents that popped up downtown this week aren't for a music fest or a marathon. FashioNXT, the two-year-old offshoot created by former Portland Fashion Week (don't get the two confused) coordinators, is bringing designers from China and five past Project Runway winners for shows October 7-10.

Here's what you missed on Thursday, mainly adorable kids and a health goth collection that channeled Kanye. Oh, and Charlie Hales was front and center.

Former Stage & Screen editor Enid Spitz writes about theater, repertory film, fashion and dance scenes when she’s not doing doing yoga or exploring pop-up events around the city.

Willamette Week’s reporting has concrete impacts that change laws, force action from civic leaders, and drive compromised politicians from public office.
