Kaleafa

5232 SE Woodstock Blvd., 971-407-3208, kaleafa.com.

Eight years ago, this was a shared rental where my wife lived with a bunch of college friends. Now this Woodstock house has been converted into a beautiful, upscale marijuana dispensary featuring exclusive flower varieties stored in jars that look like they could also house pickles, plus a fat collection of concentrates, glass and edibles. Its motto and daily goal, they say, is to help people "feel better now." One should not miss out on the Orange Crush (a tangy, sativa-forward strain the shop calls the "girl next door" of weed strains), Red Rocket or the White Chocolate Raspberry. First-time guests get a 10 percent discount. Should you ever travel up to scenic Whidbey Island in the San Juans, check out Kaleafa's second shop near the Naval Air Station.
