Uplift Botanicals

5421 NE 33rd Ave., 971-319-6118, upliftbotanicals.com. Cash only.

While the company name screams day spa, the dispensary is anything but. Located next to a well-stocked Mary Jane's House of Glass, Uplift Botanicals is cash-only, one-stop shop for flower and the means to consume it, not to mention artisanal tinctures and concentrates it advertises as being devoid of harsh chemicals. Look for product from Candyman Gardens and Neverwinter Northwest, and be sure check out its extensive collection of prerolls. The layout and location—near a strip of upscale restaurants including Beast, DOC and Autentica—is ideally suited to reintroduce your baby boomer parents to weed (again). Don't forget to buy them a hemp wick for their new glass piece from next door.

Tyler Hurst

An alleged Twitter legend, Tyler Hurst is trying to figure out if he’s most like the blue, red, or green shell. He's worked with Seth Godin on the Domino Project, written for contact/kontakt, hosted the podcast StorytellersAZ, given a TEDxPhoenixSalon speech, produced CenPhoCamp, co-produced PodCamp and TechPhx, served as founding editor for the Downtown Phoenix Journal and Scottsdale Downtowner, and wrote a book called HipCider. He currently writes for WW, Potlander, and Thrillist.

Willamette Week’s reporting has concrete impacts that change laws, force action from civic leaders, and drive compromised politicians from public office.
