Blue Sky of Portland

729 SE Powell Blvd., 971-319-6298, blueskyofportland.com. 10 am-8 pm Sunday-Wednesday, 10 am-9 pm Thursday-Saturday.

The Brooklyn neighborhood has everything—this shop is within walking distance of several bars and strip clubs, a cider house, a 24-hour greasy spoon, a 24-hour coffee shop, a cannabis club, and a theater. Thankfully, not everyone knows that yet, so lines are unlikely. Mostly catering to tourists thanks to Leafly advertising and the aforementioned location, Blue Sky feels much fancier than its space, which looks like a former used-car dealership. Look for bulk purchases of value strains or top-shelf product by the gram, because middle-of-the-road options aren't popular here.

Tyler Hurst

An alleged Twitter legend, Tyler Hurst is trying to figure out if he’s most like the blue, red, or green shell. He's worked with Seth Godin on the Domino Project, written for contact/kontakt, hosted the podcast StorytellersAZ, given a TEDxPhoenixSalon speech, produced CenPhoCamp, co-produced PodCamp and TechPhx, served as founding editor for the Downtown Phoenix Journal and Scottsdale Downtowner, and wrote a book called HipCider. He currently writes for WW, Potlander, and Thrillist.

Willamette Week’s reporting has concrete impacts that change laws, force action from civic leaders, and drive compromised politicians from public office.
