Willamette Week is in the middle of our most important annual fundraiser. As a local independent news outlet, we need your help.

Emerald Leaf Institute

3829 NE Columbia Blvd., 503-284-5323, emeraldleafinstitute.com. 11 am-7 pm Monday-Friday, noon-5 pm Saturday.

There are simple signs posted along Columbia, adorned only with green crosses and the address of Emerald Leaf Institute. It's easy to understand the guerrilla marketing campaign: The tiny roadside house is pretty easy to miss. Once inside, though, you're greeted with a stunning view of golf courses and the Columbia River. The Institute is a small but lovely shop with a cool-guy doctor's office vibe, featuring some nice handcrafted display cases and hosting about 16 strains ranging from $7 to $15 a gram. There's a helpful dry-erase menu to highlight the properties of each variety, and frequent deals that include $4 BOGO grams. Medical buyers can take home a variety of homemade and pre-packaged edibles, including Salt Water Taffy from the Kronic Kitchen.
