Progressive Collective

9810 E Burnside St., 503-444-7792, progressivecollective.com. 10 am-7 pm Monday-Thursday, 10 am-8 pm Friday-Saturday, 11 am-5 pm Sunday.

Progressive Collective's spotless waiting room seems vanilla enough to match the corporate-plaza vibe of its humble east-of-I-205 surroundings. But the vintage (and mint-condition!) issues of High Times on the coffee table suggest a creatively curatorial side of a shop organized with a hint of OCD. Known primarily for its huge selection of clones—and an unintimidating staff that can tell you how to grow them—the shop also has a three-tiered big board featuring more than 30 strains that run from $8.75 to $13.75 per gram after tax. Deal-hounds will find plenty to love here, from customer-referral credits and frequent-shopper points to a Friday-only deal where you can get a $1 gram of a featured strain (Black Domina, on my visit) with your purchase of a gram or more.
