PBR Pinball Is Coming to MusicfestNW Presents Project Pabst

The game includes a soundtrack by Portland metal titans Red Fang.

Pabst Blue Ribbon is getting its own pinball machine. Finally.

And at MusicfestNW Presents Project Pabst, you'll be able to play it.

The Pabst Can Crusher made its debut at Comic-Con in San Diego last week. The machine was made by Stern Pinball, the oldest pinball manufacturer in the world, which has also produced AC/DC, Harley-Davidson and Mustang-branded games, among tons of others. It features artwork by renowned punk artist "Dirty" Donny Gillies. And it includes 12 songs from Portland metal lords Red Fang, including tracks from the band's upcoming album, Only Ghosts.

The game will be available to play at Waterfront Park in Project Pabst's vintage arcade, among dozens of other classic games.

Check out footage of the machine in action at Comic-Con, where it caught the attention of noted Pabst hater Conan O'Brien (don't worry, we're pretty sure the PBR folks can take a joke):

MusicfestNW presents Project Pabst is Aug. 27-28. Get tickets here.

A native Southern Californian, former Arts & Culture Editor Matthew Singer ruined Portland by coming here in 2008. He is an advocate for the canonization of the Fishbone and Oingo Boingo discographies, believes pro-wrestling is a serious art form and roots for the Lakers. Fortunately, he left Portland for Tucson, Arizona, in 2021.

Willamette Week’s reporting has concrete impacts that change laws, force action from civic leaders, and drive compromised politicians from public office.
