Drive to the summit or hike up to it on a heavily trafficked but moderate 3.1 miles through mostly forest from the Marquam Nature Center. Here you can watch the sunrise over Portland from the east in the morning, soak up the sunset toward Beaverton to the west in the evening and, on a clear day, take in the panoramic view of the four closest mounts of the Cascades: St. Helens, Jefferson, Adams and Hood.
